BLOG: The Creative Proces

Understanding My Creative Process
It’s taken years to understand my thoughts and emotional responses to explore the why behind them, more than just the how. I’m influenced by all things visual, but even more so by the process of conceptualising the intangible.

When asked about my creative process, I rarely have a short or straightforward answer. Each project brings new ideas, and the path to the final outcome is never the same. The one thing that remains constant is meditating on the idea.

Now, this can look different every time. For example, in my FMP (Final Major Project), music was my form of meditation. From beginning to end, it guided my thoughts and shaped my creative development. My background in dance has helped me see music as more than just sound filling the silence but a it’s a declaration. The words, the tone, the imagery, the emotion it evokes, they all work together to deliver the artist’s message and hidden meaning.

I also use nature as meditation. Living in Surrey has allowed me to form a peaceful connection with the natural world, which often grounds and inspires me. Film and television, conversations, my belief, and even my dreams all deeply influence my work.
